Not much happening in the wake of the last draft other than the talks between Moss and Cortez Kennedy.

Moss and the Vikings have just barely begun the negotiations on keeping Moss in Minnesota. Moss is a free agent after this next season and will be commanding the highest price in NFL history for a wide receiver. The bar has been set by the Keyshawn Johnson Tampa Bay deal. Johnson got $56 million including a $13 million signing bonus. The Moss deal could go in any three directions. He could sign for a huge deal and little signing bonus or a huge deal and a huge signing bonus or he could test free agency. Could Moss be the first $100 million wide receiver? Not as a Viking but the Bengals sure have a lot of cap room. Moss has said he wants to be a Viking but has also spoken out several times about his belief the Vikings will never win a Super Bowl. I would hate to see him go is all I can say. Loud mouth or not he still performs on the field.

In other news the talks with Cortez Kennedy seem to be over. Kennedy's agent, Michael Moye, said "...they (Vikings) really didn't change their offer. It's dead." The Vikings reportedly offered Kennedy a contract worth $500,000 a year plus incentives. Moye said that would never happen. So a big veteran in the defensive line is not going to happen. It should be ok as long as the young group can gel quickly this off-season.

The Vikings are $1.9 million under the cap and we will soon see what that money has purchased. See you next week for more on the Vikings off-season.
