Attaching Hand Strap to EOS 50 (ELAN II) Battery Pack

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Hi,

I have an EOS 50E (ELAN IIE) with Battery Pack BP-50 and got the hand strap (E-1, I believe). However, I have no idea on how to attach this to the body/battery pack. If anyone can help me with a description (a photo would be even better!), I'd be very thankful.

Regards, Ulrich

There is an "ear" on the top of the camera body to attach the top of the hand strap to. Pass the top of the strap through this ear and through the little plastic buckle to secure that half of the strap. On the bottom of the BP-50, there is a small metal peg that spans an opening that has been cast into the plastic body of the BR-50 near the on/off switch that actuates the alternative focus/shtter release button. The bottom of the strap passes through that opening and then through the lower plastic buckle to secure the bottom half of the strap. I hope this helps; the drawing that came with BR-50 isn't terribly helpful.
