I have recently been taken off heart medication and I am extremely tired because of my body adjusting. Te other day I put my 2 yr old down for a nap in her room with her door closed then went to take a nap myself. DYFS was called by one of the maintanance men and they are investigating me for neglect. Can DYFS take my child away because of this?

How many of your maintenance men have children? I have never heard anything so ridiculous as someone being expected to stay awake when their child is safe and secure in their own bed, in their own home! I suspect that parents all over the world spend time sleeping while their children do! I sleep every night while my children are in their own beds and my children are certainly not neglected.

These men ought to get on with their work and stop poking their noses in to other peoples apartments!

Of course they cant take your child away for neglect. They need more prof then what the maint. crew saw, unles they saw you leave the house while the child was asleep you have no worries. They can't get your child taken from a one time(not so)incident....don't worry.

Yes they can take your children away for neglect, abuse and or just not being there for the kids. All things are possible if you let that happen. Thosea are the only reason that DFYS can take the children away from you.
