Can dance therapy be considered applied psychology? If so, is it a subdiscipline of psychotherapy? Does it have historical signifigance?

I do not know enough about the topic to answer your questions (except to say that it could be considered to be a form of applied psychology, and that although it is a form of psychotherapy, it represents the approach of a very small minority of psychotherapists). I can, however, direct you to the website for the American Dance Therapy Association (http://www.adta.org/), which includes an opportunity to join their listserv. Perhaps your questions can be answered more fully there.
