WHO WAS THE MURDERER IN THE MYSTERY OF MARIE ROGET???greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread |
Who is the murderer in the mystery of Marie Roget. It never clearly states in the end who it is believed to be. Can anyone help me with this? I know they talked about the Office to whom her early disappearance is linked. However there is a passage about a man who commited suicide by drinking poison that was found with a letter declaring his love to Marie. Who is this character? Is he the murderer? Is he the officer? Please help if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.Blake

The murderer is never stated in the story. However, what it does say, is that with the clues about the boat, etc, G----- solves the mystery and rewards Dupin -- Dupin lets G----- do the dirty work after he leads him to it.
