sir, all i need to know is ,,how do i contact mrs.menaka gandhi or any one doing her kind of social service in india or pondicherry .i urgently need to know this because i need to lodge a complain against the pondicherry municipality for cruelty against stray dogs in tagore nagar this morning. one the municipality should rehabilitate or catch them and poison them. but what they did today was a massacre. men went about with big logs in their hands hitting and killing dogs where ever they found one. there was blood shed every where in tagore nagar. i saw dogs head smashed everywhere. sir,, this is really inhuman.please; this should stop . i want u to help me very urgently.i desperately need to lodge a complain against whoever is responsible for this.so please give me contacts ? wishing u would help me if u were a animal lover. thanking u montaut

please do not make this mistake of stopping the dog pounds as without those the number of stray dogs go on increasing and create a huge problem for the people living in that area. i feel maneka gandhi is single handedly responsible for children bieng bitten by mad dogs etc. it is a serious problem if the issue of stray dog population gets out of hand. i'm not saying the techniques they employ to kill stray dogs are good, but killing them is a neccessity. ‰

I have lived in Delhi, had dogs, and had very unfortunate experience with vets. My last pug died a day before, and because the vet couldn't diagnose correctly. My previous dog died within an hour, and the vet could never say what was really wrong with him. These were healthy dogs. The first one literally dehydrated and died within an hour and the recent one was being treated for a stomach infection, but the vet didn't perform extensive tests ... and although she looked pretty bad, we were made to feel it is only an infection and she would recover. She died within 2 days of the treatment.

Honestly, I have been almost convinced that the vets in Delhi (or all over India) are no good. True, that they do not seem to have facilities, but they also seem to lack knowledge and time!!! In a country where so many huamn die of various causes, I guess it is not surprising... but really, I just feel so helpless as a pet owner.

I plan to contact Ms Gandhi or anyone who can suggest something... is there really even one good vet in India, in Delhi, who knows what he/she is doing????
