Answers

no, landslides are caused by moisture. Precipitation causes materials to become more slippery and slide past one another a lot easier. Other things that can cause landslides are lack of vegetation because it makes the soil more vulnerable to the water and more likely to cause a landslide. This is stated in the text on page 235.
