VCD Pauses in DVD Player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I use Flask to create my mpeg file (using bbmpeg) using the PAL VCD defaults, then I use VCD Cutter 4.01 to split the file. The VCD plays for a few seconds then pauses for a few then plays, this continues. This problem only occurs in my DVD player, not the computer. The VCD burns in Nero without any errors. With Adaptec 5 it reports that the "System Clock Reference 1180" is wrong. I can't seem to find any option in Flask or VCD Cutter that will give me any answers. Please help me :-( I'm really stuck?!?!?!?

Did you try another DVD player?

I get exactly this when burning my own VCDs. They work OK on the computer but not in the DVD player. Does the picture look OK when it runs in the DVD player? (Mine looks OK for a few secs then goes blocky)

i bought a JVC-vx521 and it did the same with all my VCDs, so i took the dvd player back and change it for a panasonic RD31. now the vcd's play perfectly for the first 2 minites but then the picture and sound jumps for the rest of the track. i tried 2 different kinds of cd's but i'm a bit stuck. i use nero 5.0.5

Yes guys the reason is, it is skipping in the dvd player. Slow down your burning speeding to 4x when burning vcd's then push up to 8 and try but stay at prefrebly 4x. Make sure u are burning an image from a cue or re encoding properly. CDR's were never really made made to play video and one tiny scratch can ruin the whole thing prefrably buy a dvd burner.
