greenspun.com : LUSENET : Introductory Geology, Oswego State : One Thread

If you look at the section about the hydrologic cycle and groundwater, it states that 96.5% of all water is in Oceans, out of that percentage of water how much is in bays, seas, or gulfs?

Aren't sea, bays and gulfs all part of the ocean? A bay is just a curvature of the shore, and the same with gulfs, and I was always under the impression that a sea was the same as an ocean. Am I wrong?
