Freud in Art

Can anyone tell me where to find "Freud's argument that both the 'author' (artist) and the 'reader' (spectator) are subject to the laws of the unconscious" please?

I cannot tell you for sure, but if I were undertaking such a search myself, I would begin with Volume 14 ("Art and Literature") of the Pelican Edition of Freud's works in English translation (which I think is largely a straight paperback edition of the Strachey "Standard Edition," but I am not positive). I would look first at the paper entitled "Creative Writers and Day-Dreaming," but the short psychobiographies of various artists might help as well.
