Mountain Stream

I've driven past this tiny stream a hundred times, I'm sure. I finally stopped and photographed it within a few yards of where it crosses a major highway. Weather was light rain showers.

Exposure, lighting, and clarity perfect While I would be very proud to have taken such a picture, something bothers me that I quite put my finger on. I would classify it as an "almost." I think I would like to see more of the water. Still, it's very striking.

As I look at it again, I find it growing on me. I think the distraction is that I need to scroll to see the whole picture. I really like it.

Really well done. Can't find anything to criticize in this image. I bet you're glad you finally stopped.

Alan, This is very nice and I'd be proud if I took it because I really like this type of picture. The ONLY thing I wish is that it had about 1/2- 1 more stop of light to get a little more shadow detail. Maybe that would ruin the nice saturation in the greens, but I'd at least like to compare that version. If I drove by this a lot, I'd try all kinds of things - exposure bracketing, shooting in different light situations, vertical/horizontal, zoom in/out, etc. Great Work. Rod

Some more shadow detail would be nice, but then the water would almost certainly be burned in and you'd lose detail there. As the water is the main focus here, I'd say that keeping them as is works better.

I like the composition and the photo is very sharp. Would like the moss a bit greener but often you have to take Nature the way you find her.

Very nice, well done, prehaps a warm up to knock out the magenta/blue tones in the water and to add yellow to the greens otherwise well done.
