Anyone want free tomato seeds?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am trying a bunch of different tomatoes this year and it dawned on me now that I have the seeds planted that maybe someone could use the seeds I didn't need. They are this year's seeds and I planted sixteen of each type so I am not going to need the other seeds (at least fifteen of each type). Here are the seeds that I have and if you e-mail me and say which ones you want I'll mail them to you:

Better Homes and Gardens "Beefmaster " " Jubilee " " Flavor More 207 Hybrid " " Brandywine"

Burpee "Roma" " Super Beefsteak" " Big Boy" " Better Boy " "Super Sweet 100"

If any of you have left over seeds for New Hampshire Surecrop I would sure like to have them. I was going to order a packet but with a $3.95 handling charge just to get one packet of seeds from Territorial seeds I figured it wasn't worth it.

I know I could save these seeds and use them next year but I am using these to find a particular tomato I like. I am looking for a real acidic one and next year I won't be planting all of these tomatoes, I will either be planting a lot of the good one or two I found from this years test, or, if I don't find it this year, I will be planting a whole group of new ones trying to find the tomato I really want. I remember the acidic tomato from my childhood (40 years ago) and find that most of today's tomatoes are too sweet for my liking so I decided to go on a search for my perfect tomato. I will also have some seeds left over from other tomatoes that I just ordered yesterday and I will let you know which ones they are in a later post.

Hi Colleen, I would like to speak for the Roma seeds. I like these to make sauces, and add to stews. I have a hard time with the seeds in my system andthe Roma's do not have as many seeds in them. I'll repay you the shipping. Are these seeds ones you saved from tomatoes from last year?

So far I have received requests for the Beefsteak, Beefmaster, Romas, Super Sweet 100s and the Brandywine. The rest are still available.

Hi,I would surely appreciate any seed samples that you could send me. I don't have a really big garden and don't usually grow more than twenty tomatoe plants at a time.I like trying new stuff too.
