Snow

Well, first we had a long winter, then a day or two of spring, then summer, then a day or two of spring, then fall, now we're back to winter. Supposed to have a hard freeze tonight. We've got the cabbage, etc. covered. It can take the cold, but when it gets below 28*, I cover. Supposed to be back up in the 70's by the weekend.

How's your weather?

hi, Cindy, sounds like you're having quite a roller-coaster ride;) We've been on the warm side, in the upper 80's I guess most days. Last night a front came through, and it is windy and damp. Wore our jackets to do chores this morning, but we won't have any more freezes here. In fact, I planted out six tomato plants mid-February and they are doing great, never had to cover them!

Cindy, our weather here in Ky. is doing the roller coaster thing too. We didn't get snow but it was 30 degrees this morning and supposed to get down to 27 -28 tonight. My cabbage, lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower survived last night but guess I'll have to cover tonight! I mulched the strawberries good and almost covered them with straw and they are ok. I called the county extension agent yesterday and he said the strawberries would be his biggest concern. Just hang in there, it'll be spring again next week!!!

Looked real strange outside this morning. Lite dusting of snow on the green grass w/ Hostas growing! I went back to bed and slept till 9am. That set the tone for the day. Haven't done diddly all day.

Seems about the same as IN here.... We had 70's, then 30's, now 70's again, but 20 at night. Snows some, then rains... all in the same day.

I was stupid enough to let the propane tank dry up, so I hope it stays warm till Thursday when I get my next fill up!!! I'll never do THAT again!!!!!

Nothing sets one back like the teasing of spring....It was HOT here two days ago, 90* and sweating, yup. In Texas in the summertime, even your sweat sweats. But that front reached all the way down here and made me put a jacket back on. We had a tic of rain today, but nothing like they made it out to be. Less than half an inch and they were acting like we might float away. It makes me nervous when we have lots of rain and then it suddenly stops. Not a thing I can do about it, but it usually means a drought is coming. I really just pray that we don't have a drought this summer. I saw the first grasshoppers Sunday afternoon. They are super tiny, less than an eighth of an inch. Heck, if they weren't grasshoppers you might think they were cute, but alas they are ravenous tree killing plague mongers and I detest them with every fiber of my being.

Don't worry northerners, just a bit more and you will be swamped with all the fruits of your garden! Keep your chin up.

Hi Cindy, 90's last week, was 20 degrees this morning. With the wind blowing about 12 mph feels like 0-degree. But its supposed to get back up to 70's by the week-end.

Wife wished it would come one real good snow before turning off hot. Don't look like were going to get it.
