EOS A2 with optional flash and metering

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Nearly every one of my photos with my A2 and a Speedlite (540) flash turn out over exposed. The faces of people in low lit situations tend to be very white.

The built in flash on my EOS A2 does not produce the same results. I'm not setting the camera any differently between the two flashes. What could I be doing wrong to get such horrible results from the Speedlite? I thought the A2 with the Speedlite use reflective metering and will "auto compensate" to reduce the power output of the flash.

Anxiously awaiting suggestions...

(Happy Holiday weekend!)

Check the exposure compensation dial on the camera. Now a question for you.
