Homeschooling is synonomous with freedom! Here is another site really worth checking out. They are fully acredited in all States...your child will actually graduate with diplomas! No more rangling with nosy, pushy government and school board officials!!! They respect and honor all cultures and religions and work closely with parents to develop an individual curriculam for any child. Yes,they are happy to work with special needs and handicapped children. No..they are not free....but the price is worth it! I know using them saved my daughter from the nightmare of peer pressure and all that goes with it. And everything can be done online! Your kids actually have teachers so if your like me and wanted to home school but just don't have what it takes to be a teacher this is great. The world is a scary place....but between this and the 4H club (goats...of course) we made it! My daughter ended up using her 4H journal as a term paper and earned her phys-ed credits for horseback riding. They can even earn work credits and community service credits just for participating in 4H.ANd they do have a financial assistance program.

You miss the point of school altogether, though. High school hasn't taught me jack shit in the class room. But that's the thing most people miss...it's not supposed to. The point is not to learn who signed the Louisiana Purchase. The point is to teach kids to obey. To indoctrinate them and prepare them for the life they will face as cubicle slaves of corporate America and to teach them to deal with the fact that society is dominated by dickheads who enjoy screwing over people they think are less important than them. What ends up happening by the end of high school is a)you realize that the system is bullshit and are better prepared to deal with society and corporate oppression, or b)you are brainwashed ebough so that you just don't give a shit.

But moreover, it teaches kids how to interact with other people. It teaches them how to survive in a society that treats anything but mediocrity lie shit. Your daughter will go off to college thinking the world will be as warm and receptive a place as I'm sure her home is. But it's not. And that is what public school really teaches you.
