Information on bats

Does anyone have any information on bats as far as how to acquire and/or attract them, care for them, sources to purchase their housing, etc? I live in Central Florida. ANY information would be greatly appreciated as the mosquitoes here are driving us mad! Thanks!

Bats are just about anywhere. As long as they can find insects, they should be easy to attract. I've never bought one, but lots of different seed catalogs sell bat houses.

A neighbor in IL just bought one, followed the hanging instructions and that was it... I don't know if it would work that way for everyone, though... Something tells me he didn't give me the full story.

Good luck!

When I lived in Merritt Island Fl, central east coast, our neighbor had a bat condominium that sat on a tall pole, maybe 30 feet. It looked like a tall bird house with multiple holes in it. Those bats were always out patroling the canal area and we hardly had any moskitos, which for merritt island was amazing. It really works, good luck finding info.
