Arista 5x7 B&W films available at Freestyle

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

Arista 125 and 400 B&W film in 5x7 format will become available at Freestyle Photo starting the week of April 16. The 125 speed film will be available the first week, with the 400 speed film available the next week. If you are a 5x7 shooter, or want to be, or can use it for big negs in your pinhole camera project, the film is good quality Freestyle is easy to deal with. Catalogue numbers are:

Arista 125 5x7 sheet film: 150-571

Arista 400 5x7 sheet film: 150-574

If these sell well in 25 sheet boxes, maybe we can talk them into packaging it in 100 sheet boxes. I do not work for freestyle, but approached the film buyer about filling this niche market about a year ago. After some research, they ordered the film. Now those of us who use 5x7 format have one more option in high quality film, and at a time when The Yellow Peril is cutting back.

Hi Dan, If you have ever used those films, can you tell who they really are? Thanks.

Arista films are made in Britain. Since there's only one film company in Britain, it's probably Ilford.

Both films are now in the warehouse & available for purchase. And if you use the developing times & info for Ilford FP4plus and Ilford HP5plus, you should be right on with these films. Price is $20.95 per 25 sheet box.
