Russian sub Kursk was carrying nuclear weapons: report OSLO, April 4 (AFP) - The Russian submarine Kursk which sank in the Barents Sea last August was carrying nuclear weapons, the Norwegian news agency NTB reported Wednesday, citing a member of a Russian commission that investigated the accident.

The commission member, identified as Grigori Tomchin, told the Norwegian television station TV 2 that Norwegian authorities had also confirmed that the vessel was carrying nuclear weapons, NTB said.

The Kursk went down on August 12 last year with the loss of all 118 crew.

Norwegian officials had no immediate comment on the report.
