Does anyone know if the new Canon convertors will mount on the 80-200mm 2.8 L? The old ones didn't because the rear element in the 80-200mm is too far back. This design changed with the 70-200.

No. The 2x II has a protruding front element, just like the old 1.4x and 2x and the new 1.4x. None of them will mount on an EF80-200/2.8L.

You can stack a 1.4x BEHIND the new 2x II as there is room at the rear of the 2x II for the front element of the 1.4x. Not that stacking TCs is recommended, but you can do it if you must.
