Hi everyone, Golly I didn't realize I would get this much input, THANKS! The 8,000, was for equiptment only. The Company I did business with put me in touch with a Electrical Engineer that taught alternative energy at our local collage. He figured my energy needs, helped me order the equiptment, and drew up the skmatics(sp)? so my brother could install it. I'm 5 miles from the nearist elec. line and the power co. wanted 25000$ to bring it up to my house. Frankly, the thought of never having to pay those people again makes me very happy. My fridge, stove and house heater are propane.Wood stove, oil lamps, and a 900 sq ft. house, make it easy to be frugal. In the winter I do get WIND! 9200 ft in the Colorado rockies.I would encourage anyone to get in touch with the people who sell or make solar equiptment, they can put you intouch with knowledgeable people in your area.Does your local collage have alternative energy classes? Also,It dosen't matter the size of your system, if you can supply even part of your owe elec. need's,it makes you less dependent on the system and it's better on ole Mother Earth.
