I have used Nero and Fireburner to make VCD's on Imagination 700MB Platinum CD-R's and when i put it into my DVD player the picture is messed up. its looks like x-axis is set wrong cause the picture is all unstable.

Did you make sure to encode the VCD at 352x240 NTSC resolution?

I also experienced problems playing self-made VCD's when I burned them faster than 2x. So, try to burn your VCD's very slow, and it should work...
