I feed my dogs food grade Diatomaceous Earth daily. Here's just one bit of info:

CLINICAL OBSERVATIONS OF FEEDING FOOD-GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH TO DOGS

O.C. Collins, DVM

Midland Animal Clinic and Hospital

Midland, Texas

In clinical observations of feeding dogs over 35 lbs. 1 tablespoon/day, and under 35 lbs. 1 teaspoon/day of diatomaceous earth, within seven days all ova disappeared from stools. Diatomaceous Earth controlled Ascarids (Toxacara canis), Hookworms (Anclyostoma caninum), and Whipworms (Trichuris vulipis).

Rogo, does DE only work when it is fed dry?

Patty, I have used Happy Jack 2x liquid on my collies for years. It gets all the worms. I worm the big dogs every month, and the new pups at 2,3,4,6,8,10,12 weeks, then once a month for them. It's about 10 dollars for 160lbs. But, I can't find a good cat wormer, none of them get anything except roundworms, and that's just wasting money.

When used to kill insects, it only works dry, but not necessarily so with parasites. My large livestock eat it out of a bucket, but my dogs like it mixed with a bit of corn oil. If I open a can of tuna, I'll use that oil instead of the corn oil. I free feed dry food, so can't mix it into that!
