How sensitive are b/w chemicals? At what point during the printing process can I turn on a light?

I usually inspect my film while it's been fixing for a couple of minutes, but I think you are safe after stop bath if used. Definitely safe once fixing, though.

If you use orthocrometic film you can use green light when processing. so you can see it is under/over develop. It's difficult to find orthocrometic film .

Thanks

YOU SHOULD HAVE A ROUGH IDEA OF THE PROCESSING TIME AND TURN ON LIGHT (ONLY A 0 WATT BULB) TO CHECK THE DEVELOPMENT BRIEFLY AFTER 80% OF IT HAS LAPSEDAND THEN PROCESS ACCORDINGLY. PRACTICE ONLY ON NORMAL TO LOW AND NOT VERY HIGH SPEED FILMS
