Dennis "The Brain" strikes again

I read today that Greenie did it again. Lance Johnstone, yes the injured one, was signed to a five year 30 million dollar contract by the Vikes. What?????? Yes that is correct. Apparently Johnstone has the option of voiding the final four years of the deal if he plays in a minimum of 28% of the teams defensive snaps this coming season, for which he is slated to earn 1.5 million. Of course if he does not, or chooses not to void those years, we are stuck with asking him to renegotiate or cut him and take a cap hit, sound familiar? I could see doing this for someone who is actually worth six million per season, but for someone who isn't it seems like an awful big risk. But of course with Denny's superb track record with elvaluating talent on the defensive line, we don't have anything to worry about. Or do we?

He is decent if he is healthy. I don't think he's worth 5mil yr but who knows we might actually get a break and get some production, if he gets 10 or more sacks it will be a plus, besides he is only 28 yrs old. On the the other end i don't know if F.Smith is the answer, I'd rather have McGlockton even though there are ??? about his neck. We still need a big body in the middle and CB's obviously. GO VIKES!!!!!
