What is foot and mouth disease? I understand it is contagious, what is the effect on humans and what kind of livestock does it infect? How can you prevent it, and how does it get transmitted? Really curious.

As Jack suggested , check previous threads and the archives, this will give you insight to some of the concerns of other Countrysiders and some information on the spread of the desiese from Europe. You can also search the various encyclopedia or library websites for acedemic information. If these areas don't provide you sufficient answers, then by all means begin a question thread. There are many of us here still educating ourselves on this and many that have the knowledge.
