He may have had plastic surgery because he grew up in america in the entertainment industry where he was aware of plastic surgery from the word go. He may have had it becasue of his teenage and child - hood years and therefore plastic surgery makes him look different from what he used to look like and this may make him forget about what it was like and how he looked during child hood. PLUS HE IS A HOLLYWOOD STAR!!!!!!!!!

You people must be crazy. Michael Jackson lightened his skin on purpose. If any of you knew about the background of the black community, you would know that light-skinnned black people were looked up to and thought to be better than dark-skinned blacks. Michael Jackson bleached his skin because he felt that it would be a privilge and an honor to be light-skinned. No one in this world with vitiligo tells the doctor to sandblast their skin and pour burning bleach on them. Vitilig occurs in patches and the goal is to treat the white pacthes so they will become more natural to your skin tone.

Does it really matter if he changed the colour of his skin on purpose? 93% white people tan themselves 2 make their appearance darker!! So what if its not permanant we just keep doing it. The reason he had surgery is because when he was younger his father told him that he was ugly and told him no-one would ever love him. His father also told him that he couldnt sing or dance and would never achieve anything good in his life. That is why michael is so obssesed with perfection.

yes it's true he had plastic surgery because his dad and some times his brothers teased him about the way he looked, they said he was ugly and stuff, then he fell over and broke his nose, so he decided to have plastic surgery, it then went on from that, but no matter what mj looks like, you lot here, (and i know u do) should love him as a person and not a personality

i know mj got surgery on his nose because he fell over on stage and broke it(it's true i read it in an interview) i'm a huge mj fan and i love him and all but, i know some people with vitiello and two have it really bad and they're not completly white like michael. Vitiello causes loss of pigmentation, causes blotches of lighter skin, mike's completly white, all over.. kinda. he must have had something done or he wears a sh!t load of makeup!

Michael had NEVER bleached his skin! ok? never! He has a skin disorder called vitiligo and it makes his skin go white! that's the reason he wore that surgical mask 'cause he MUST NOT be n the sun! He did only 3 operations: two on his nose and 1 on his chin but that's ALL! And in one interview he said : "if everyone in hollywood who had plastic surgery would go on the vacation, the town would be empty!" So can you stop now talking about Michael having bleached his skin? PLEASE, leave him alone! That's not true,it's just tabloids,it's junk,it's garbage,don't believe it! STOP FILTHY PRESS!!! I think the reason he wanted plastic surgery was because he just wanted to.It's that simple.But,he really does have Vitiligo,and yes,it did change his skin white.He did not bleach it.

Instead of having his face operated on he should have been getting mental help,The person who answered you and stated that the reason for the op was vitiligo must be living in a vacuum.I am not aware of any doctor who would advise getting a nose job liposuction bone alterations etc as treatment for vitiligo,But it is common for people who worship stars to make excuses for thier actions.The help Michael Jackson needs he will never receive[just like elvis]because it is not in the interests of the people around him to actually help him,They just want money.They do not want him getting involved with doctors outside of their control so the future for MJ looks bleak,as in all these cases he will die a sad person surounded by greedy parasites.
