TV--The phenomenon of "The Sopranos"

Why do I love this show? Is it because it's set in North Jersey, my long-forgotten home? Is it because it is a 21st century morality play? Is it ecause the writing and acting are so creative, humorous and visceral? Is it because racism, sexism and violence, greed are so intertwined with love, humor, honor and selflessness as they are in real life? Is it because of the grossly entertaining double standards that are everywhere--the devoted husbands that routinely maintain goomahs, the young mafioso who robs a charity concert to meet his $6000 obligation to a senior mobster?

Here is a good review of this show. Tonite at 9:00 PM EDT. Rebroadcast several times during the week.
