Recipe of the week (cooking)

Not getting much response on recipes of the week except the first week on crockpot cookery. Is it that you don't like what I've picked or you aren't interest in the category. I know a few are. Please give me you opinions. Thanks

Cindy, I love mushrooms and asparagus, but......I can't afford either one, with the strict budget that I'm on. It's only temporary, someday I'll be able to step out in my back yard and pick all the fresh asparagus I can eat. For now, I eat cheap, cheap, cheap!

Cathy, Cheap and good are two different things. What do you raise or what can you raise? In my experience, we can raise and have the finest meats and veggies available. If you are eating from the market, buy things that are marked down. Get some OLD cookbooks. Cook from scratch. Much cheaper and healthier. When my stepdaughters came to live with us they knew only boxed foods and fast food. They requested mashed potatoes on one of their first nights here. They had lots of questions while I was boiling potatoes. The only mashed potatoes they had seen had been dried flakes! Needless to say, they have actually learned where food comes from and how to prepare it. My suggestion- lets have a topic like Frugal Homemade. Recipes that include readily available, in season, items. Things that are simple and inexpensive, when you have to buy the ingredients.

How about some pizza receipes? I'm getting one of those stone pizza cookers and want to try more pizzas but would like a good variety and healthy receipes.
