recipes and methods for early photo printing processes

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo: Alternative Process : One Thread

I'm looking for source for recipes for interesting processes that I can experiment with in my black & white darkroom. Can anyone suggest a source?

An excellent source is "New Dimensions in Photo Imaging", by Laura Blacklow, ISBN number 0-240-51755-5. Spiral bound (so it lays flat in the darkroom), lots of diagrams and pictures for Van Dyke, Gum Bichromate, cyantope, qwik print and other processes. Another source is Louis Nadeau who has written several books on bromoil and platinum printing techniques. If you plan on doing these early processes, you will find that they all require enlarged negatives for contact printing. So, you might as well get Dan Burkholder's "Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing." This is a fun area to be in, so enjoy yourself.
