Oh no, not JYW too

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

Started watching JYW a few weeks ago on TLC in Montreal. Great shows until..... The 'airplane' episode, aired yesterday (Mon. 12th March). Too much hee hee, ho ho; The T-shirt 'stabilizer' modification between test flights was not explained (more hee hee, ho ho instead); and, there we go, a young female "co-host" appeared who, for example, just had to try out the pilot's seat. I shan't be surprised to see her in a profile revealing T-shirt soon. Is this necessary?

Well, I won't berate you too much...

JYW is the brainchild of the "young female 'co-host,'" Cathy Rogers, so I think she certainly has the right to appear on the show. In later shows, after her trial debut, she is attired in clothing more fitting for a junkyard junky, not BayWatch.

The show is supposed to be targeted at the juvenile crowd...to get them interested in engineering. Give the guys and gals at RFD a little credit. The show has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the UK.

What's wrong with profile-revealing T-shirts?

Gotta agree... the "glider" episode was only "so so". I really don't think they need 2 hosts, especially when both are going for the comedy effect... being silly in this episode seemed to be contageous. Best aspect of this episode was the interesting old pilot.

Everyone else has griped because the later shows don't seem to have as much humor in them as the original season. You were watching the beginning of the second season. Relax, it gets better, and Kathy gets a new hair style as well.
