Charley Walters: Don't print that

Don't print that *

* Insiders say a major disagreement between two high-ranking Vikings officials on the telephone the other day led to one hanging up on the other.

* A federal lawsuit by a longtime former employee against the Vikings is coming up soon.

* With time running out fast, word within NFL circles is the Vikings have dropped their trade price for Todd Steussie from a second-round pick to a fourth-round pick

This is absolutely fascinating news, Mr Walters! (I can't believe they actually pay this guy to write this kind of useless crap!)

If you read between the lines,

I have nothing to write about today since the Vikings have once again sat on their collective fat ass through the meat and potatos of the Free Agent season.

I'll try to lead everyone to believe that Red McCombs hung up on Denny Green when Denny demanded that he get a bucket of gravy placed on the sidelines next to the Gatoraide buckets.

Then I'll try to lead everyone to believe that Roger Headrick is going to sue the Vikings for removing the Male Cheerleaders from the sidelines thus depriving him of his equal opportunity to ogle during timeouts.

Finally I'll let everyone know that the Vikings have once again aired their dirty laundray to the public and will once again release a very tradable commodity (ala Jake Reed, Randall McDaniel, Randall Cunningham, John Randle) for nothing. Certainly each of these guys could have brought in a late round draft pick.
