A Car Demolition Derby

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

Have the teams go into the junkyard and find parts and a suitable car build a derby car. They have to conform to the derby saftey rules. The more teams the better so you have more competition. Have it so the teams can weld the seams on the doors and such so they are strong. You could also use this idea to qualify teams for the show.

Whoa, Travis- Overwhelming reponse to this one, eh, buddy? Probably because so few of us want to get into a traffic accident on purpose. (I know it's not high on my "to do" list.) How about going for "Rollie Pollie" cars instead? That would be a vehicle that, when rolled over, always lands back on its wheels. Small engines, low speeds, lots of padding and great big honking roll cages. They might even go for something like that!

FAIR WARNING: Travis takes this demolition derby thing VERY seriously. Any attempt to respond with anything other than your whole-hearted support will be met with a rather stiffly worded personal e-mail from Travis himself. I really should have left this cow flop in the field where I found it. You've been warned.

I think it would be too easy to do. They make sure there are working cars in the yard....so not much would be needed to make them ready for battle. I do like watching demo derby's though. How bout a motorcycle destruction derby....Ouch!
