Account Manager of EXISTING Accounts

HI..

I was previously employed by a payroll provider, and my duties consisted of maintaining existing accounts, and growing revenues with new products.

I am now looking into other areas to apply the SAME skill set. MY issue is that many companies do not have such a position, or they give those accounts to new sales reps. to maintain. (What incentive a new sales person would have on an existing account, eludes me).

Looking for service generated businesses that need a liason to assist retention. Any ideas are most appreciated.

How about value added resllers of products that require followup - and that incorporate the payroll side of things. Products like Platinum (Epiocor ) and MAS90 or MAS200 (Sage) of Fundware are examples. In this model - you suppot a prodict produced by a larger company - but components of the support/upgrading/maintenance is the repsonsibility of the reseller usaually a team of consultants with specialties - usually subscription or fee based.
