After serving a DPA to B&B, they have eventually replied, but only with information up to May 2000. I have been in correspondance with Hammond Suddards since September 2000 and when you read the 'diary text' the last entry is May 2000, followed by a hand written note "File at Hammond Suddards". Do I now have to send a DPA to Hammond Suddard?

Also I assume the tracing agent they used was PP? does anyone know who they are and whether I should serve DPA on them ?

Yes, you should serve DPA's on Hammond Suddard Edge.

You should ring BBBS's "DPA compliance officer" and ask for an explanation of all and any of the terms, initials, nottes in their response that you don't understand. They are legally required to expalin them. If they don't, bang in a complaint to the Data Protection Commissioner.

Once they have identified PP and give you their address, bang a SARN into PP.

I agree with Lee absolutely. Serve SARNs (a tenner a go) on the whole lot of them. Make it clear you want *all* the information they hold on you in *all* the categories from *all* the systems. You'll be amazed what you can turn up!

These companies must explain all abbreviations, codes, etc, and in fact they should have done this automatically. It is very poor that you are going to have to ask for this information. If you stick the request in writing, along with your query about why the information stops at May 2000 (there must have beeb contact between lender and agent, one would think, since that date), then you have a record that this lender is not co-operating with you as fully as it might have done. You might also ask for an explanation of the processing method and the processing logic (you are entitled to do this).
