I was just wondering about how exactly volcanoes eruptions are predicted. Have there been any advancements in eruption prediction capabilities???

As Dr. Gabel explained in class, volcanic eruptions can't be predicted exactly, but there are some precursors to eruptions. The swelling or tilting of a volcano can indicate that magma is rising up toward the surface.Changes in gas emissions, plants and trees can die from co2, and the change in heat flow, all indicate that an eruption may take place within the next few weeks. Tremors and the change in pattern of where they are occuring helps indicate an eruption as well.
