Thanks for all the repsonse to my question on what we can do to have more Lost Soul Mates participating in What Chris has identified as what binds us together...

"we believe that the net's connectivity can be used to create huge new value, humanly, socially and businesswise. We like conversing about this. But beyond this, unlike any other space, we also like to share each others experimenting in doing this...So please lurk or participate as much as you wish. BUT when you are getting into a huge new value creation experiment, please remember we're the first space that will love to see the details/links of what you're trying out. We'll always try to respond communally and constructively to posts of that kind, even if its the first you've ever made to us".

In following Grovers advise I have lurked, as I did not want to kill the discussion with my name ending up on every post. I can immagine all of you get sick and tired of reading about my comments Y..., so adequatly summed up by Jeroen. I believe adressing a number irratating technical flaws in a tool we try to use to build what is in the vision can hardly be regarded as creating the immage of an innercrowd. Annybody who has read Howard Rheingold's tips on community building will try everything possible to make people understand that an important role of a moderator is to make onself invisible as much as possible. I have absolutely nothing against lurkers, but think there are so many talented people in the group we never hear, that they have already left, without telling. If I get annoyed of to many postings I set my profile to read web only. As about 40 % of LSMers did so, they will never get any alerts, unless we send them one by private mail. My only intention with question was to get more participation, and eliminate the feelings of inner crowd building.

Finding a solution to do this, irrespective of the community tool used has been one of my goals, not only at LSM but also in other discussion systems. I think I have identified a number of showstopers over the past few months and tried to find some easy to use non techno answers, as mentioned in response to this message This list gives an overview of toptics Chris identified as themes

I hope this idea helps to cut down the clutter, and allow LSM's to follow the discussion they are interested in. If you like you can set an-email allert per subject. In the final edition you can correct or ad to earliers replies so to corect errors. It will also allow you to ad immages. Here is the the administration section

Thanks for putiing up with me P.s. we have been trying to use a message board in a way we would normaly talk to eachother. We have tried to be polite by adressing a question raised to person, which makes sense if you have 1-1 communication or in chat box, where the system identifies who's talking. I believe this is one the reasons for confusion and iritation.

Do we want to become Camp ALfa for FirstTuesday evaquees.

1. What do we have to offer them?

2. What are there first needs?

3. Can they survive without our safe haven?

4. What can they contribute to our 10+ woman/man band?

... so we can kick some action the "party". If this is brand chartering we are doing a poor job I feel (using a name that is enough to send anybody away). My suggestion would be to become (E-) Spartacus or something prefferably without e-, because that is allready ancient history) , the next generation internot surviors against all odds. ... Kick in some positive thinking ( after all who would join a party of mourners... if you have just been kicked out firtTuesday because it ran out of seedcapital. Lost Soul Mates don't have anything, we don't even exist legaly.

You aint seen nothing yet....and we have the power, experience, working knowledge and will to re-create gosttowns into the biggest success story of mankind... So guys and girls... lets get out of the trenches, kick some butt, and "shoot" the sorry people that will try to convince you you're nuts. It worked in the battle of "the Bulge in 1945" remember... Why look back on failures of companies that didn't have a chance in the first place... I went bust twice ( even without beeing a dot.com), and still havn't quite mannaged to create a decent living, but sure as hell I am enjoying every minute of the revolution we are witnessing at the moment... To hell with technology, get into 5th gear, and do something... if there's a way to make things better, find it...

have fun Mr X .... a clean piece of paper, a "contribute button" and an erasor......
