they were talking about that when I was in the Army,, our battalion was even authorized to wear a black beret during some training,, big deal,, just another hat,, too hot in the sun,, too cold in the snow.

Stan the problem is no more GREEN BERETS,no more MAROON BERETS,Nothing of distinction for elite units.Maybe we are just getting them used to wearing them so no one fusses when they switch to BLUE BERETS.

Yes, this was my first thought too after reading about the change a couple of months ago.

Yep, kinda what I thought. No problem when they pass out the BLUE hats (belonging to the U.N.). Hubby says they are dedesigning the uniforms too--the new ones look kinda like throwbacks to the old Eisenhower jackets. I kinda lost it at that bit of news. They can't afford ammunition, they have to disarm the nuculear warheads so's they'll have missles enough to use at the Balkins, they can't afford to set up a proprer kitchen to feed they guys on Annual training, they can't even keep roofs and windows on the buildings at the shut down forts.....but they can afford to change everyon's uniforms. GO FIGURE.

as for the blue berets. I sent this to a friend who replied with this. Note: forwarded message attached. : Mike I am in the army it would be a bad thing to use the black beret's but they are not. The new beret's are going to be BLUE. I'm sorry you signed this not kwoning the truth. -Chris-
