cullman magic 2 tripod

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I am looking at a new tripod and wt and size always seem to be an issue with everyone, me included, since if you don't take you can't use it. So I interested in a cullman magic 2 tripod, is it sturdy enough etc., anyone with any information would be appreaciated? Will be used mostly of outdoors scenery and/or wildlife. Perhaps few portraits.

hi, i have a 2901 cullman, and need those green inserts from the camera to the tripod........

it has been difficult to find them...........i know someone at the moment has a travel cullman for sale........go to ebay, and under search type cullman...........then you can also try completed items and see maybe what didn't sell........

if you have found where to get the cullman, kindly let me know... i need those green things!!!!!

regards, maryeileen

Sturdy? Yes, sturdy enough. Overpriced? A bit. Its best feature is that it folds absolutely flat, and can be slipped into a large satchel type camera bag. Its ultra-portable, but not ultra-light. Aside from the fold-flat feature, I'm not sure why it is a better choice than a Gitzo 026 or 1127 for instance...
