She flew like a beauty. Just launched a C6-5 Estes modified rocket blew out of the water. OK it was only seven inches deep but next time will shoot for a foot and a half.

Had to shorten the rocket to 10-inches tall, used a 6-inch PVC tube to launch, had a cap at one end, had to cut it down to about 17-inches high. Then got another piece of PVC that was attached inside the launch tube, it was to guide the rocket out, made it an inch higher than the launch tube. There were four fins on the rocket do had to cut four slits in the inner PVC pipe.

Funny thing with the PVC pipe cut like this, to within three inches of the bottom where it was glued to a cap which was glued to the 6-inch PVC cap. The split or cut end of the PVC wanted to curl in so I had to use tape to hold it out.

Good old duct tape. that is what sealed the top. I used one layer of duct tape, then covered the top with seran wrap and then two layers of duct tape over that, then clamped it. It apparently held the water out.

On the bottom of the tube I used a clamp and three steel brackets, on top of the brackets is where the bricks were placed to hold it down this was after putting the entire thing in a trash can. Filled it with water and launched.

It was a blast, bet you the thing went 600 feet.

I now know I can launch a rocket from under water.
