seed search

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have looked through all my seed catalogs (about 22) for TAHITI SQUASH with no success. I use to order them from Parks, but they no longer have them. Itis a WINTER SQUASH that gets about two feet long and taste like a sweet potato. Any help would be appreciated. Don

Try www.seedtosupper.com . I just ran it on my browser search engine and that was the only vegetable reference (all the rest were for the game on the island :>)

Don, My apologies. The engine erred. The above site is for howto books only, not seeds as I entered it on the engine. I'll try my other engines for you.

I ran the copernic engine and the only source was a greenhouse farm that sells annuals. Grandview Farms site is at www.angelfire.com Select Grandview Farms in the search box. Maybe they will sell some seed also. Good Luck.

Don, I looked at the seed to supper site and noticed "Delicata" squash -- it says in parentheses after it (sweet potato squash). Maybe it could substitute for the one you can't find! You might also contact the guy who wrote those books -- maybe he can tell you where to buy the seeds.

http://csf.colorado.edu/perma/stse/seedlist.htm This is a seed exchange that has it. www.greendealer-exotic-seeds.com/seeds/MelSquashPumpk.html This is a company that sells the seed. www.seed-man.com/vege.htm This is another one that sells seed. www.maxban.com/seeds/ and another. www.jump.net/~arjun/UrbanHarvest/ and this place sells the .25 a pack. This place also sells a lot of other seeds cheap cheap. Judging from the recommendations I read while looking for this, I may go buy some myself. I found all these references and many more by using the google search engine, and by using the name this vegi/fruit is most commonly called. Tahitian melon squash. Little Bit Farm
