All about fines for misdemeaners

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

Last week in Balimena Court,a man was found guilty of exposing himself in a public place by jumping up and down in the street.(I assume he was flying low at the time.)The judge fined him $150 & directed it be paid to the Womens Refuge.

In Ireland, the majority of fines for minor offences are paid to the most appropriate charity.Another example.Swearing at Guardi means the fine goes to the Guardi Welfare Fund.Does this happen anywhere else ?Seems a grand idea to me.
