Rebel X Setting Question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have an EOS Rebel X. I have 3 questions, the first one is the most important:

1) What is the setting on the Rebel X that is between the ISO and A-DEP. It is in the white and is the 3 curves and the black BOX.

2) What is the last setting (the one past the ISO)? Is this to finish off the roll?

3) How do you use the A-Dep?

Thanks

Hi i have a Rebel XS, and it have the same settings.

1) The little symbol with the 3 curves is the In-Focus Beeper, if you set it on 0, the beeper is set to off in the creative zone (P, Av, Tv, etc.) but will still beep in the green section. On 1, the beeper always work.

2) The last setting is for Mid-Roll rewind. You put the knob on this setting and press the button that have the same symbol for 1 sec.

3) The A-Dep work very easily, but is not always working like we wanted to. All you have to do is aim the wide AF frame on the scene you want and the camera uses the wide AF frame to detect the nearest and farthest subjects and will give you the right Depth-of-Field.

But sometimes, it will not detect the subjects, you will have to press the shutter halway a few time until you have a big f number.

hope this answer your questions.
