Yeah, there's some really entertaining ones out there :) I don't think that was the one they would have sent in as their application video though, cos the team didn't actually talk at all. They might of cut that bit off the front of it? The more I think of it the more I think it might of been an extra project that compiled footage from their entry into a more general purpose (and highly entertaining) video.

Hi Guys,

Actually that was our entry video. We decided to go without speaking just to be different. We still provided the required info though, name, age, job.. but with a different twist. Since we called ourselves The EH-Team we wanted to shoot our introduction like the beginning of The A-Team TV show (or as close as we could get).

In terms of what we used to make the video, well.. we are lucky that both Peter and I work for a large, broadcast quality media company (GAPC , well.. I work for a multimedia company called digg design , but digg is owned by GAPC) so we have access to all sorts of fun toys and studios. We had a blast making the video, and it took a long time, but we think it was worth it.

A lot of the effects that we used are custom, made by Peter, in either AfterEffects or Avid (we used both). We did the narration and sound design in ProTools.

Thanks again on the Kudos.. I'm glad you liked it. Good luck to you guys and everyone who has entered (I wonder if anyone has found out yet?).

Well this sets a new standard for video applications. It's amazing what good editing equipment will do.

At my house it was... Hook up vcr to vcr/tv... Play raw footage... Fix the no signal failure... Press play... Daddy, why is there wires all over the bedroom? Press stop... Because, I'm out of time to find a video editor... Press play, Press rec/pause... Miss the cue Press rewind Press play Honey, when will you be done Miss cue again Press stop In a little while Press rewind Press play Hit cue Record wrong cut successfully... Scream Scare Kids Scare Wife Repeat for 60 minutes Finish

It only took you 60 Minutes!?!! I learned the hard way that it's not always better to "shoot everything, we'll edit it out later!"...

It just becomes extra footage you have to rewind and fast forward past to get to the clips you can use!! After 16 hours, I didn't care about the between-scene-snowglitches, I just wanted to be done!

Well it took at least 4 hours with just a video camera. No fancy editing. Stop, run though the next scene. Record, hoping that the camera started recording when we thought it did. Stop and repeat. None of us had done it before but, showing how a clay pigeon thrower works, then showing the other uses for a clay pigeon thrower was a lot of fun..... Good Luck to all that applied from the Wickedly Wild Welders of New Mexico.......... P.S. JYW please the suspense is a killer...........lol!

check out our one take video we think it is different let me know what you think?

We shot about 37 minutes of video. The video was shot, and the rotisserie was built in one night. I used Avid studio through my Matrox G-400 TV card for the video editing. I burned the final copy to videotape the next night. This was my first video, and it was a good learning experience.

Great job EH-Team

I love all this group stroking about your entry video's.....but how will you do in the actual junkyard?

-- Roger (ramjet@hotmail.com), March 04, 2001.

Well that's just it Roger.. we were hoping that our video would be so good that we wouldn't even have to compete :)

seriously though, I'm sure we have just as good of a shot as anyone, but we really don't care how we do, just as long as we get to play with big toys, and make something that runs loud, goes fast, and is insanely dangerous to ride :)
