I have heard a bunch of ways in which alot of people believe tha poe died, I need to know more ways in which he is believed to have died, and some sources that I can use of locate more about Poe's death. Can You Please Help Me?

poe's actions during his last few days have never been traced, but he was found ill in a baltimore tavern in october 1849, and he died in a hospital on the 7th. of that month.

Alot of people think he died because of his drinking proble he had. They think he was up drinking all night and died because of to much. So thats what I heared. I 'm also looking for information over that insidint for a project. And let me tell you, you won't find much on the net about it.

There are also some people who think that he may have gotten infected by rabies just a few months befor his death although it has never been proven.

One way which I truly believe, is that he was drinking at a bar one night. During that time not a lot of people liked him cause of his horror stories; so soem were frighten of him. So after drinking at the bar he wonder off into an ally and a couple of men beat him to death.

It has now been almost certainly proven that Poe died of rabies. It has been ruled out that it was alcohol, for while in the hospital Poe refused alcohol, as he had now been sober for around 6 months. Poe told doctors that he did not have a recent run in with what appeared to be a rabid animal, but this too can be easily explained. Rabies can take up to a year to take effect after someone has been infected by it. This was all explained much better in an article in Reader's Digest titled "The Case of E.P."
