I'm having a problem with splotches appearing on my film either during the developing or washing. I'm using HP5 in microphen 1:3 and used Kodak photoflo afterwards. The result is not readily visible until the negative is backlit with a dark background behind but it is random patches of what I can only describe as irregular splotches. Whatever this is is not a surface blemish but is right in the emulsion and it does show up in the print. I've been at this for many years but this is something new for me. The only thing I've done differently is to use Microphen instead of my usual D-76. The density of the discoloration is about 2X the film base.
