Cadash scoring change motion

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I move a change in the way MARP scores cadash and it's clones as follows:

1. If you die at any point in the game, your score is the number of experience points you earned - like what we're doing now.

2. If you win the game, your score is 150,000 minus the number of experience points you earned at the end of the game.

I think this motion should take effect for the following reasons:

1. Even though the leeching is legal(because it's maximizing the score on a time limit), it's quite boring to watch.

2. In Role Playing Games, like this one, I feel you're better if you can beat the game in a lower level.

This motion would put all the action back in the game. At least it would reduce the leeching by at least 70 %.

I will proceed with the motion unless there's any objections. GB9

It is reasonable idea.wizard has good advantage.
but why 150,000 ??

Sounds reasonable, I have no objections to it obviously :) Although leeching to 60,000 on one credit isn't quite as easy as it looks...

I thought of 150,000 because I thought it gave at least a reasonable bonus for winning the game(30,000 at least), but it can become really big with the less experience you end with. Because I have support from two main players, I will move forward with the motion now. I'll change it back if I get massive objections however. GB9
