DAMN KICKSTAND OWES ME A LEFT SIDE OF MY F4S!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

The godDAMN kickstand, WHICH FELT DOWN ALL THE WAY, decided to let the bike fall on the pavement 20minutes ago. I've been weeping for 10 of these minutes.

Luckily....the damage was light. Spring is here though, and I need it perfect before I hit the streets. Sucks cause you can't see the scratches until you get REAL close...

I need a left mid fairing(where the engine case shows through, luckily the engine case is ok....), a left mirror, a left clutch lever, and a left bar end. Everyone is closed today - wondering how much this is all going to cost me?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If anyone knows where I can buy some pride back, that would be great too.

PLUS!!!! How can I fix the damn stand so this doesn't happen again?? IT'd be nice to be able to let the bike sit and idle too.....anyway to have the bike run while the stand is down??

Thanks for any info!!

Well join the club, same thing happened to me. The left side fairing is $700, the mirror $215, I'm not sure about the rest. I decided to just get my pieces repainted. It's being done as we speak.

Hi Gents The first I did when I got my MV - I removed the sidestand mounting bolt and cut off the thread so that it is flash with the sidestand lower surface. The counter nut must stay off! Therefore I secured the bolthead with Loctide. Now the sidestand stays down untill it is forced back. Maybe it saves you some money in future. Best Regards ciao... ...Kuchi

Before the bike left the shop I had it retro fitted with the Ducati kick stand kit. Clean, quick and effective. No if I could just fix the oil leaks, stalling and terrible riding position I would have a great bike.

Dear Jeremy,

Your story was also mine, but I have prefered to keep my leg under the bike and just has broken clutch lever.Than just remove your mirror (in Swizerland it's not forbidden to remove winkers)it keeps other fairing parts saved and than you'll found a small parts in metal between side stand spring and mounting (the form is like a banana or a boomerang) just bend it a little bit more and than your side stand will never turn in place until you push it with your foot !!

Bests regards

Laurent
