kids junkyard wars

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

I am 6 years old and I love Junk yard wars. I think it would be great to have junk yard wars for kids under 10yrs old and we could make a flying machine. Also I want to make a sailing boat. I would like to make a rocket too. Or perhaps we could make a buggy.

Bye

Daniel

I think a kids show would be fun we could build the same machines only simpler. Ex. Instead of a huge mowwer we could build a small mowwer

The problem isn't that the projects are too big, it's just that you kids are a liability. Don't try to bring up the waiver bit, it can't be done. There is no way for kids to participate in JYW like the adults do, even if the projects are smaller. In any way you look at it, JYW would have to put their asses on the line and they would be liable.

the idea of that young is not as possibile but the teenagers show would definitly be interesting think about it. how invintive are teen agers when triing to get out of trouble. just an observation!

As a standby, local Home Depot stores have sessions where they build sailboats and stuff with kids. It's pretty cool. Not as good as a full JYW's, but it could be fun.

Now if RDF wanted to really get with the program, they would go in with Kinex, Legos or even Erector to develop a Junk Yard Series. Each set would have enough in it to do a challenge two different ways, then they could compete. (Hey I have a nine and eleven year old. Trust me on this!)

I am 13 I can weld. I've built robots before and me and my friends are building a real Minisub by our selves, why can't I participate? Our parents could be with us and sign the waver!
