Do Goats Speak English?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

To those of you who don't own goats, this may seem quite unbelievable. But for those of us who do have goats,it's a little more believable. ^_^ Okay,so I went out this morning to do my normal routine of walking outside, petting the neighbors' cat Pixie.Walking into the back area of the yard.Saying hi to Tarzan (another cat,but this one's not owned by anyone.) Anyway just the normal rountine. So then I walked back and said Hi to our goats and gave them their hay. Our big goat Brianna likes to push around our Pygmy Goats. So she was doing her usual as well. So I got out extra hay and gave it to 'Lindsay the Amazing Lap Goat' She's a little bitty goat. ^_^ Our goat Creamy Girl decided to be mean too. So she was pushing around Lindsay and Edele (The two smallest *sigh*) I heard her Creamy Girl very distinctively say "Move it,Get out" I thought oookay, maybe I heard the people down the street. So I went about talking to Lindsay, and I looked over at Creamy Girl just in time to see her butt Edele (Eedell) And I saw her!! She said it!! "Go away" So,I think Ms.Creamy Girl is beginning to speak English! YAY!! Has anyone else had their goat talk? Let me know! ^_^ :-)

Hi, countrygirl. I've tried communicating with my goats, too. They seem to UNDERSTAND English ok, but they can only respond in German or Spanish. One morning one of them said, "Wie gehts", and then "Jesus es mi mejor amigo". Since I speak German a Little Bit, I knew he was saying "how ya doing?", but can someone tell me what he meant in Spanish? Something profound, obviously....

Of course they do, unless they were foreign born!

Whoa! German and Spanish? Cool! I have a friend who lives in Mexico,I can ask her later what that means! It's sounds like he is saying "Jesus is my Best Friend" That's cool! Hey! I'll check back later for any new posts and post what it means (If someone didn't already) Talk to you all later!

I think if you know your goats ( or whatever animals you have) and like them they will speak to you so you will know what they said when no one else can figure it out!

you have simply discovered one of the many powers of the mighty goatish race. Our people normally do not choose to speak in the simplistic and tasteless tongues of humans, but there are those of us speak in terms you can understand when we find the need. Listen carefully, for the wisdom of the goats is not to be taken lightly.
