Can someone explain the basic premise behind the orb dance. I've heard about it, and seen a couple people do it, but can someone just summarize how it goes so I can take it and add my own spice?

it's pretty simple, but takes practice to make it look good. basically just pretend there's a ball between your hands, approx 20cm in diameter is a good size to start with. then move your hands all about the place, making sure never to leave the 'ball'. a good way to practice is with a ball to start with, try some things, get your hands rolling nicely, then ditch the ball. also, make sure when you hit the clubs, you don't just stand in one spot all night orbing it up. variation is the key. work in some footwork, some liquid, and some oldskool groove. hell, just throw your hands about like a madman; as long as you're feeling the music, real ravers won't look down on you for not having a good style.
